Another legendary weekend in Reno has entertained thousands

Named the Number 1 Air Show in America and a Top 10 Air Show in the World, the yearly event of The STIHL National Championship Air Races in Reno combines the world’s fastest motor sport with spectacular military and civilian air entertainment.

This year’s showcase took place September 11 – 15, 2019 and attracted once again thousands of visitors from all around the world to admire six different classes of race planes and enjoy up-close access to aircraft, pilots and crews.

You can see the final race results on the official website: 2019 Air Race Reports

FORTIS Watches in collaboration with their official North American Distributor WatchBuys were on the ground during the event, supporting the Thunder Mustang Air Racing Team with Pilot Peter Balmer from Interlaken, Switzerland who was the only Swiss Air Race Pilot at the races. He flew a Thunder Mustang which is a replica of the world famous North American P51 Mustang.

The exclusive FORTIS Watches showroom created within the hangar of the team next to the airfield was a hit among the pilots and visitors alike. During the day, the public were able to see the watch collection and learn more about the FORTIS Watches and in the evenings the showroom turned into a favourite meeting point where over hundred pilots and team members discussed the day and their passion of flying over delicious food and drinks.

“We are already gearing up for next year’s event and have some exciting plans we are working on! Looking to the skies and beyond!” said Andreas Bentele, Marketing Director of FORTIS Watches.

Reno Air Races Championship 2020 is scheduled for September 16 - 20, 2020.
